June 2: Our Waters Our Life: KAIROS Action to Protect Water

Join us on Sunday, June 2 from 2:30-3:30 at Gibbons Park, the Parkway entrance (end of Victoria Street) to celebrate and protect our rivers, creeks and streams! Bring: Labeled bottles of water from YOUR watershed, snacks to share and lawn chairs. Send: Pictures of your watershed to put on Facebook! Canada is a nation of rivers, lakes and oceans. This is our call-out to you, your families, your friends to join us in an action for ecological justice for the watersheds in our communities. In solidarity with indigenous people we wish to affirm the sacredness of water and its protection. We will collect vials of water from OUR beautiful waterways. This water will be taken to Ottawa on June 20 for a national “gathering of the waters” day of solidarity. We will offer a petition to urge the federal government to repeal sections of their omnibus budget bills C-38 and C-45 that compromise environmental legislation and indigenous rights. June 1: A Tribute to Carousel and Classic Broadway

Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. at Wesley-Know United Church, 91 Askin St., London. Richard Rodgers once wrote that Carousel was his favourite musical. In 1999, Time Magazine named it the Best Musical of the Century. Rodgers' music for the show together with Oscar Hammerstein's lyrics continued a revolution in musical theatre which had begun with Oklahoma and continued with South Pacific, The King and I and The Sound of Music. This concert, featuring selections from Carousel and other classic shows from Broadway, pays tribute to the Golden Age of the Musical. Featuring four talented London performers and songs like "You'll Never Walk Alone", "If I Loved You" and "June is Bustin' Out All Over" - a great evening of timeless music! Buy Tickets Now!
