Healing of the world begins with the healing of one person. To that end, we, at St. Joseph Centre emphasize the integration of body, mind and spirit. Flowing from the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph, our ministries impel us to be God’s loving and healing presence. Holy listening and compassionate care are the ways we companion all those who seek wholeness. Our healing ministries are:
- Spiritual Direction
Contact: Sister Yvonne Parent at 519-974-3753
Contact: Sister Linda Parent 519-948-4133
Spiritual direction provides an opportunity to have someone accompany you on your spiritual journey. Spiritual direction is holy listening. Do you long to be listened to in a safe, non-judgmental environment and to talk about any aspect of your life-blessings, struggles, losses, challenges . . .? Do you long to grow closer to God? A spiritual director can help you satisfy that longing and encourage you to explore a closer relationship with God.
- Bereavement Counselling—Contact Sister Pat Hogan at 519-945-64-50 Brochure.
Bereavement counseling offers a companion to anyone who is experiencing loss. There is no set time for mourning. We do not “get over” our loss, rather we come to acknowledge the reality of the death of a loved one, a job, of health. Often the journey through the wilderness of grief is a journey of the soul.
- Therapeutic Massage & Body Work—Contact Sister Jacqueline Janisse, NCTMB RMP at 519-251-8837
Therapeutic massage and body work is holistic in nature and is based on the belief in the innate healing power of the body. Massage is a gentle, non-invasive method for enhancing relaxation of the body, stillness of the mind, healing and renewal of one’s energy. Massage cares for the body without judging; it can help you accept your body and yourself as you are. Non touch energy modalities are also available.
